Outstanding quiz. How'd you do?

Take this quiz without 'looking up the answers in the back of the book (Google)'.  I got a 100%.  But then again, I have a major in Poly Sci, and a Masters in Econ with some Doc work.  Outstanding quiz.      http://www.isi.org/quiz.aspx?q=FE5C3B47-9675-41E0-9CF3-072BB31E2692

  1. As a junior in high school, I got 75% on this quiz. Not bad eh? The average was 49%? College educators got on average 55%. Makes me wonder how much human capital is really worth. Sure (MentorMan) can get 100% but he lives this stuff. That was just 33 questions, how many other questions does the average American not know that affect this country?

It figures that I only know some of those because I learned them this trimester in Government, but that makes me wonder whether it is the quality of the education that makes a person valuable or how much they can remember from "back in the day".

So what is it that makes experience so valuable? Doing the same thing for years and then getting paid more for it? Then a recession hits and they get laid off. What do they do with all of this experience doing the same thing for 20 years now? Do they get another education and struggle to remember everything or do they ask the Government to feel bad for them and send them money every month? The second one sounds better to me.

The value in in the eye of the employer, I can get 75% but the average is 49%? Am I more valuable than the average American?

Share your unique economics experiences. What did you have to give up to gain that which at the moment seemed so necessary to you? Imperfect information spanked you and now diminishing marginal utility smacks you upside the head, eh?
